Her Death Occurred Yesterday Morning After Months of Illness. After almost ten months of suffering, at 9:30 o'clock yesterday morning, Miss Lulie Magill Jordan, the eldest daughter of Mrs. C.R. Jordan, passed into rest. Her loss will be keenly felt by a host of sorrowing friends. Beautiful in soul as she was in personality, none knew her but to regard her as a model type of womanhood. Always bright and happy she cheered and inspired all with whom she came in contact. The funeral will take place from the residence, No. 108 Charlotte street, at 1:30 o'clock this afternoon. The remains will be taken to Smithfield at 2:30 o'clock and they will lie in the Episcopal church at that place until to-morrow morning, when the interment take place in the family lot at old St. Paul's [sic; Luke's], Isle of Wight county. ****************************************************************************** LULIE M. JORDAN The funeral of Miss Lulie M. Jordan, whose death has been noted, took place from the residence of her mother, Mrs. Christie R. Jordan, No. 108 Charlotte Street, yesterday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. The services were largely attended, and were conducted by the Rev. H.S. Lancaster, of Berkley, and the Rev. J.D. Powell. The floral designs were both numerous and handsome. The remains were forwarded to Smithfield for interment, the following pallbearers accompanying them to the boat: F.L. Mingee, C.A. Buskey, J.P. DuBerry, N.A. Coggsdale, E.P. Godwin, W.V. Hart and H.S. Bailey. ****************************************************************************** DEATHS AND FUNERALS. [...] FUNERAL OF MISS JORDAN. Her parents, Charles Emory & "Christie" Christiana Riddick (COWPER) JORDAN, are also buried there. Her father (1845 - 1883) was a Confederate veteran, having served in Co. G, 13th VA Cavalry. He does not appear in the regimental history {1st ed.}. Her mother was granted administration of her husband's estate 7 Jan 1884, having entered into a $3,000 bond with Davis W. JORDAN & Thomas Q.
